VERY spacious and functional
I'm not sure why the previous reviewer had so many difficulties with scratches and the sturdiness of this cabinet - either it wasn't handled or packed right when it was shipped or it simply wasn't put together correctly because I have nothing but positive things to say about this unit.
I bought this to store my fairly large videogame collection which I had been storing in a bookshelf at least a foot taller and 6 inches wider, and my main purpose for buying it was for the locking door (I have a 2 year old who has been trashing my collection on a near daily basis - so locking this stuff up once and for all was my goal). Imagine my surprise when the collection that had been OVERFLOWING my much larger bookshelf, fit nice and neatly into this cabinet WITH AN ENTIRE DOOR OF SPACE STILL AVAILABLE!!!! WOW!
The only negative I can possibly muster up would be the slide bolt on the door that doesn't have the lock. It's in an awkward position and the screws they supply for...

wobbly and scratched
We have a 1 year old and we needed a DVD shelf that closed. I found this one online and the reviews were mixed so we went ahead and ordered it. We should have listened to the bad reviews. For the price it is not worth it.
Pros:
1. It was fairly easy to put together
2. Once it is all finished it does look nice
Cons:
1. There was not a step that we did that there was not a piece scuffed or scratched. Apparently they knew this was an issue because they sent a black marker to fix them.
2. The top was chipped when we got it and one of the adjustable shelves was broken and unusable (they are supposed to be sending us replacements)
3. It is very wobbly! Even with the back on (which is supposed to make it sturdy) it wobbles from side to side.
4. When we hammered in the nails on the back it cracked the top shelf.
5. Once you put DVDs on the top shelf it is hard to open the left side
6. The pre-drilled holes made a huge mess...
Perfect storage solution!
This cabinet was the perfect solution to my unsightly cd/dvd collection. It is cavernous and easy to assemble and looks great!
