Broken. Improvised and repaired it ourselves.
I knew from the get go it would be tedious to put together...that's not so much the issue I had. Do be prepared, however, to spend hours on it (took us 9 total) and you'll need more than one person to get it done. It came in 3 big heavy boxes.
Once we began the process of putting it together and got to the part of the big front face piece and big back face piece, they both had issues across the whole bottom. Starting up from the bottom of it, the part that kinda looks like a baseboard...that part was cracked all the way across on the front face piece. The back face piece was completely broken all the way across...looked like it was flapping attached by hardly anything. It looked as though it had been glued to begin with. Instead of returning it, we decided to just reinforce it and repair it ourselves. We had family coming in from out of town and needed it done. We had to purchase a really big clamp ($35), some Gorilla super glue ($6), and 2 metal brackets ($5) which...

With a little help
This island was perfect for our kitchen. It is heavy, and was delivered on time with no damage. Lots of cardboard and packing material to dispose of. It was a tad advanced in the assembling process. But, with a little help it is a beautiful addition to our counter top and breakfast bar needs.
Monarch island
Received island in a timely manner was a little concerned with the reviews about the instructions and how hard it was to put together but everything came packed together perfectly and instructions were extremely easy to understand and took my husband and I about 2-3 hours total. Only reason I give 4 stars one corner had a "ding" that looked like it had been repaired. Wasn't enough to return all and all beautiful addition to our kitchen.
