Looks better than it costs!
One of the reviewers here seems to think they should have gotten a Thomasville desk for the price of a cheap desk and it doesn't work that way. This is vinyl laminate over press board, about as cheaply as you can make a piece of furniture but still have it look nice after it's put together. It's also important to closely and properly follow the assembly instructions or you'll not be happy with the fit and finish of the final product.
The pros:

About as well made as any assemble it yourself press board furniture
Looks much more expensive when it's done
Has good weight capacity
Cons:
You have to put it together Hint: Use a low torque cordless screwdriver on the 56 screws provided - do NOT use a cordless drill with a screwdriver bit or you'll strip out every single hole
It's heavy! Don't assemble this in the garage thinking you'll carry it into the house. Assemble it where it is going to live...

Bookcase with doors
We received a center bookcase and bought these as end units to match the center. They match beautifully! I am very pleased even though the center bookcase was bought several years ago.
